Coloured leads: Glass lead-work has been a classic element in British architecture for many centuries. County Windows can offer virtually any leaded design you can think of either choose from one of our standard styles, or design your own leaded creation. The only limitation is your imagination.

Lead is applied to both sides of the outer pane of glass so the inside surface remains lead free and easy to clean. The coloured film is encapsulated by the double-glazing to protect it from wear and tear.

Classic Lead Designs: For those who wish the simplicity of lead-only pattern, whether it is just diamonds or squares, or you are looking for something a little different, we have a complete range of patterns to suit every type of house. Lead-only patterns will be produced either using 6mm or 9mm width lead strip (unless specified otherwise), and will be desined to incorporate the whole window layout, rather than individual panes of glass.

Georgian bars: In past times glass was a very expensive commodity and could only be made in small panes. Glazing bars across windows held together the small panes of glass to create the attractive 'Georgian' design.

County Windows can re-create this beautiful look by providing sealed units with top quality aluminium bars between the two panes of glass inside the double glazed unit. This means an easy-to-clean surface internally and externally, which are more practical and durable than original Georgian windows.
